DOROLAN represents a new generation of coated gold bronze pigments, which were developed especially for the coatings industry. Conventional bronze pigments are enclosed in a highly transparent and homogenous SiO2 layer using a sol-gel technique. The remarkable features of DOROLAN pigments are their high colour intensity and extraordinary brilliance. Their colour spectrum ranges from greenish-gold to reddish-brown. Eight different colours are available:
With the DOROLAN pigments, different qualities can be used to create different colour nuances. DOROLAN pigments consist of a metallic core, which is enclosed by a dense silicate layer. This protective layer increases the colour stability of DOROLAN compared with uncoated pigments, which proves beneficial, for example, during the baking process of powder coatings.
The weathering stability should, however, be tested in the customer's own coating system.
