Zinc flakes offer both cathodic corrosion protection and barrier protection. Although the corrosion protection properties of zinc dust are identical with those of zinc flakes, zinc flakes have greater ecological advantages without any economic drawbacks: more freedom for formulation, easier handling and smaller quantities of material used with simultaneously higher levels of effectiveness.
