Energy from solar power: ECKART builds its own photovoltaic system
- Solar power to flow from summer 2025
- 6000 PV modules generate 3,700,000 kWh of electricity per year
- Fully financed from own funds
Hartenstein, May 19, 2025 - The new photovoltaic system from effect pigment manufacturer ECKART will provide sustainable energy generation near Häuslfeld (between Hartenstein and Lungsdorf).
With an area of around 60,000 m² - roughly the size of eight soccer pitches - it will be able to produce 3,700,000 kWh of electricity per year. This corresponds to the average annual consumption of around 920 households and thus covers around eight percent of the company's total electricity consumption. According to economic calculations, 95 percent of the electricity generated can be used as in-house electricity and five percent can be fed into the public grid.
After a year of preparation, the ground-mounted photovoltaic system with around 6,000 solar modules is set to convert the first rays of sunshine into sustainable electricity this summer. The system is being financed entirely from ECKART's own funds without any financial support. The construction is being carried out with the company ESG (Energiesysteme Groß), a specialist company for photovoltaics.
The local community was involved in the project from the outset and informed about the project at regular events. With the new photovoltaic system, ECKART is taking a further step towards sustainable and environmentally friendly production and is making a local contribution to the energy revolution with its own initiative and innovative technology.
Construction begins with a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony (from left to right): Dominic Lange and Dietmar Spiegler from ESG, and Stefan Stein, Andreas Gipp (Managing Director), Florian Deinzer, and Torsten Brunner from ECKART.
