Hartenstein, June 16, 2025 – With expertise, commitment, and a strong sense of teamwork, ECKART GmbH apprentices claimed the top spot: In the nationwide workplace safety competition organized by the German Social Accident Insurance for Raw Materials and Chemical Industry (BG RCI), the team from Güntersthal secured overall victory—outperforming more than 1,500 participants from across Germany.
In early June, the six best teams out of a total of 83 faced off in the grand finale. Through theory quizzes, first aid drills, fire prevention tasks, and traffic safety challenges, the ECKART apprentices demonstrated not only their knowledge but also their composure under pressure. They took the lead on day one and extended it on day two. With a total of 188 points, the team won decisively ahead of the runner-up (171 points).
The winning team members: Marius Bube, Oliver Dörres, Yannick Fellner, Thomas Hutzler, Sarah Masson, Lars Pfülb, Dominik Regn, Tim Reichel, Laura Richter, Tim Rümpelein, Lisa Marie Schaffner, Lea Sommerer, Luca Walter, and Luca Wurzer.
This victory was especially meaningful for the team as they dedicated it to their longtime mentor, Roland John. For many years, he guided and shaped the apprentices in workplace safety. As he retires this year, the competition win became a symbolic farewell gift and a heartfelt tribute to his dedication.
The team was also cheered on by an enthusiastic fan club, whose spirited support contributed to the great atmosphere—and surely to the win.
