PCU (= Powder Coating Ultra-high Performance) is a generation of non-leafing aluminum pigments with an extremely high level of chemical resistance. What makes the PCU pigments so special is the innovative concept of pigment encapsulation with an inorganic-organic double coating. The PCU pigments consist of a platelet core of high-purity aluminum, which is embedded in an inorganic matrix of silicon dioxide using a sol-gel process and subsequently encapsulated with a special organic acrylate layer in a second pigment coating stage.
