Hartenstein, March 21, 2025 – At the European Coatings Show (ECS) 2025 in Nuremberg, effect pigment manufacturer ECKART will be presenting innovative solutions for a range of coating and printing applications under the motto GO:FUTURE - from corrosion protection to radar-transparent pigment solutions for autonomous driving and mineral-oil-free offset printing inks. The new products focus on versatile optical effects and improved handling, as well as sustainability.

STANDART® Zinc Matt Black and ProFLAKE® Zn HYDRO PM 3090, two new zinc flake pigments, are being launched for corrosion protection: STANDART® Zinc Matt Black offers rust resistance – even without an extra topcoat. With ProFLAKE® Zn HYDRO PM 3090, ECKART is presenting the world's only zinc pigment for water-based systems at the ECS, which is particularly suitable for industrial applications.

The topic of autonomous driving places special demands on the painting of vehicles: they must be radar-transparent to ensure the functionality of the sensors. ECKART is presenting a whole range of pigment solutions that meet these requirements, including the water-based pigment pastes SILVERSHINE Hydro Platinum and Titanium Grey. They create elegant, non-textured metallic surfaces and are ideal for silver effect coatings and colour designs.

The pigment dispersions of METALURE® Prismatic 100560 MA impress with their optical effects and versatility in the coatings sector. Thanks to their fine particle size and innovative VMP technology, they create subtle metallic rainbow effects in coating and printing projects. Thanks to their broad compatibility with solvents and binders, METALURE® Prismatic products can be used in coatings for consumer electronics, automotive components and high-quality packaging. The new additions to the METALURE® C series offer a complete colour palette from light to dark chrome effects with their high level of image sharpness and striking mirror effect.

The STAPA® HD metallic pigment pastes are suitable for industrial and car paints and have been optimised for both exterior and interior use. With its high covering power and brilliance, STAPA® HD (High Density Pigments) is extremely economical in use and therefore very productive.

The aluminium pellets of the new SILVET AD series for solvent-based printing ink formulations can also be used in a variety of ways. Their shape offers significant advantages in handling and with their variance in silver tones, they expand the portfolio to include a comprehensive selection of brightness, opacity and gloss levels. The AQUAVEX series is suitable for water-based printing ink formulations and also impresses with its excellent opacity and high brightness. In particular, the AQUAVEX AD and AQUAVEX Plus Elite lines are characterised by excellent adhesion properties.

With the mineral oil-free METALSTAR Eco and TOPSTAR Eco series, ECKART is presenting another innovation at the ECS. In line with the new French regulation, the gold and silver printing inks are based on vegetable oils and fatty acid esters. In tests, they showed the same quality as mineral oil-based inks in terms of printability and brilliance.

An important building block of a sustainable orientation is the portfolio of AL-II products, which are based on secondary aluminium. The company is flying the green flag here, because these aluminium pigments have the lowest product carbon footprint in the world. CO2 emissions from AL-II products have been significantly reduced again in the past. A new sustainability guide offers customers orientation by showing the extent to which individual products contribute to climate protection.

ECKART is also looking ahead with the Trend Colours for Coatings in 2026. The five colour palettes in the collection combine subtly shaded silver tones with metallic and pearlescent effects. The trend colours focus on technology and progress, while also creating an emotional connection to the past.

At the ECS, solutions for plastics will also be on display: new here is LASERSAFE 020, a pigment for light-coloured laser coatings on dark plastic that can also be used in food packaging. MASTERSAFE is a particularly low-dust and low-odour pellet portfolio for plastics that also requires less CO2.
