„ECKART is committed to sustainability at all its locations worldwide – for instance, by continuously optimizing our production and energy systems.”
DR. DIETER RAAKE
Head of Global Process Excellence
"We want to prove our measures with our Life Cycle Assessment. A sustainable business strikes the balance between cost-effective and environmentally friendly activities to enable profitable growth." These are the cornerstones of ECKART's entrepreneurial activities:
Our highly qualified employees are the cornerstones of our success. Their safety and well-being are the premise of our business activities. At the same time we are aware of our responsibility as an employer.
We are improving procedures and processes in order to offer our customers as resource-saving pigments as possible. We pursue an innovation strategy that is geared towards sustainability.
The ALTANA Group and its ECKART division have committed themselves to climate protection. This means prudent management and environmental protection, both through large and small projects. Our goal: climate neutrality by 2025.
Our goal is the continuous expansion of green, climate-friendly electricity and the reduction of our CO2 emissions. This is also done through our own facilities for operation and production.
Our aqueous pigments, as well as our VOC- and APEO-free products for printing inks and interior applications, are key milestones in the development of a range of resource-saving pigments with unique visual qualities.
Our certified quality, environmental, and energy management systems (based on ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001) enable us to control our consumption of resources. This makes production more efficient and environmentally friendly.
We use external assessments to certify our sustainability management, including the EcoVadis seal from the leading global ratings provider in the chemical industry. ECKART has won the gold seal of approval in Germany as well as in the USA.
The production processes for our cosmetic pigments are based on the principles of good manufacturing practice (SDG). This ensures the high quality of our metallic and pearlescent pigments for decorative cosmetics and for skin and body care.
As part of the ALTANA Group, ECKART supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations. The Group has identified six of these goals as particularly relevant for its activities and publishes pertinent information and key figures each year.
Our EHS guidelines – which apply to all our companies worldwide – form the basis of sustainable business practice at ECKART. In addition to ensuring appropriate occupational health and safety, they also provide for the development of environmentally friendly pigments.
